The all-foil format alone changes the math. In standard sets, commons and uncommons are bulk worth cents. Here, even the lowest-rarity cards hold value in near-mint condition. The floor price of a pack's contents is structurally higher.
Japan also gets products the rest of the world will not: a proper booster box holding 20 packs at ¥360 each (¥7,200 per box), plus a Premium Deck Set and other exclusives. Outside Japan, there are no booster boxes at all. That detail shapes the buying strategy below.
Chase Cards: Three Tiers to Watch
Futuristic Rare: Pikachu, Mewtwo, Mew
YOSHIROTTEN designed three Futuristic Rares to debut the treatment: Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew. The opalescent finish shifts between colors depending on light angle, with holographic layering and texture work above Gold Rares and standard Secret Rares. It builds on the premium treatments the Mega Evolution era introduced since early 2025, pushed further than any rarity tier before it.
One thing to be clear about: nobody knows the pull rates yet. The Pokémon Company has not published them, and anyone quoting odds before release day is guessing. We will revise our projections once real opening data exists.

ETB Promo: Nidorina
The Elite Trainer Box promo is confirmed: a Nidorina promo card. It will not move the ETB price on its own, but promos from previous anniversary ETBs consistently command premiums on the secondary market. Factor it into your ETB math anyway.

These projections draw on the 20th Anniversary CP6 (2016), the 25th Anniversary Celebrations (2021), and current Cardmarket trends. All prices reference near-mint raw condition.

Reprints in anniversary sets trade below their originals but above standard reprints from regular sets. The all-foil treatment and anniversary context carry a premium that normal reprints do not.
Anniversary Track Record: CP6 and Celebrations
Two anniversary sets exist as data points. Both delivered.
The 20th Anniversary set (CP6, 2016) was Japan-exclusive: a 20-pack box containing just 26 cards. Sealed CP6 boxes now sell for $8,000–$13,000 according to PriceCharting. They retailed under $50 in 2016. Even against the broader vintage boom, that is the strongest sealed-product return of the modern TCG era.
The 25th Anniversary Celebrations (2021) was the first globally coordinated anniversary release, timed into the pandemic collecting boom. Its 50-card pool mixed 25 classic reprints with 25 new confetti-foil cards.

Three lessons for 2026:
- Sealed product appreciates, but supply decides how fast. Celebrations returned 100–200% over five years despite heavy printing. If 30th Celebration prints to saturation, expect slower short-term gains.
- One or two cards become "the card." Celebrations had Umbreon VMAX. The Pikachu Futuristic Rare is the likely candidate here.
- The floor is higher than Celebrations. Every card is foil. Even commons hold value, which raises the minimum return on sealed product.
