Best Pokémon Card Apps 2026: 7 Free Trackers Tested

By CardTrezor Team·July 5, 2026·14 min read min read

Managing a Pokemon card collection in 2026 looks nothing like it did two years ago.

The market has matured dramatically. Vintage cards trade at institutional-grade prices. Modern chase cards command three- to five-figure sums on release week. And the gap between premium cards and bulk has never been wider — a PSA 10 Charizard ex SAR can be worth €1,860 while the base version of the same card sits at €3.

In this environment, data-driven collecting is no longer optional for anyone serious about the hobby. Tracking what you own, what it's worth, and where the gaps are in your sets has become as fundamental as sleeving your hits.

The good news: there are more collection apps than ever to choose from. The bad news: they vary wildly in quality, features, and which markets they serve.

This article breaks down every major Pokemon card collection app available in 2026, compares them across the features that actually matter, and helps you pick the right one for your specific needs.

What to Look For in a Collection App

Before diving into individual apps, here are the criteria that separate a genuinely useful collection tracker from a digital binder that gathers dust:

Card database completeness. Does the app cover every set from Base Set through the current Mega Evolution era? Can it handle reverse holos, promo variants, staff cards, and region-specific exclusives? A shallow database is worse than no database — it creates a false sense of completeness.

Price data quality. The source of price data matters enormously. TCGplayer prices reflect the US market. Cardmarket prices reflect the European market. Multi-source apps give you broader context but risk averaging out local extremes. Check how often prices update (daily, weekly, real-time) and whether you see market prices or last-sold data.

Scanner accuracy and speed. An AI scanner that misreads cards 20% of the time is slower than manual search. The best apps hit 95%+ accuracy on well-lit, unsleeved cards. For sleeved or graded cards, accuracy drops across the board — but some apps handle this better than others.

Collection organization. Can you sort cards into folders, tag them by binder or box, track quantities, and mark duplicates? Does the app support graded cards with full subgrade detail? How about sealed product?

Cross-device sync. A collection you manage entirely on one device is fragile. Look for apps with cloud sync, web access, or at minimum reliable export options.

Export and backup. You should be able to export your collection as CSV, JSON, or spreadsheet format. An app that locks your data in is a liability.

Pricing model. Free tiers range from fully functional to glorified demos. Premium subscriptions typically run from €1.85/mo to €9.29/mo. A few apps are entirely free with community support.

The Contenders: Seven Collection Apps Compared

We tested each app on a reference collection of 500 cards spanning Base Set (1999) through Mega Evolution (2026), including graded cards, Japanese exclusives, and sealed product. Here is what we found.

Collectr

Collectr is the most popular general-purpose collection tracking app in 2026, and for good reason. It covers Pokemon cards alongside other TCGs, trading cards, and even sneakers. The UI is clean and approachable, and its price engine pulls from multiple sources to give you a reasonably reliable market value estimate.

Platforms: iOS only. An Android version has been "coming soon" since early 2025 and as of mid-2026 is still not generally available.

Pricing: Free tier with basic tracking. Premium at €4.64/mo or €37.19/yr unlocks advanced analytics, price alerts, and portfolio insights.

Strengths:

  • Broadest price coverage across multiple markets
  • Sealed product tracking is well-implemented
  • Intuitive, consumer-grade UI that's easy to pick up
  • Active development team with regular updates

Weaknesses:

  • iOS-only is a dealbreaker for Android users
  • No AI card scanner — you add cards by manual search only
  • Grading support exists but is shallow (overall grade only, no subgrades)
  • Cardmarket price integration is not available, making it less useful for European collectors

Collectr is a solid choice if you are on iOS and want a broad portfolio tracker rather than a deep Pokemon-specific tool. It is less suited for serious set completionists or EU-based collectors.

TCG Album

TCG Album emerged from the German collecting community and has grown into one of the most technically capable Pokemon-specific trackers available. Its AI scanner is among the best in class, and its deep Cardmarket integration makes it the default choice for many European collectors.

Platforms: Android, Web.

Pricing: Free tier with limited entries. Premium unlocks unlimited cards at about 4.99 EUR/mo or 39.99 EUR/yr.

Strengths:

  • AI scanner achieves 95%+ accuracy on unsleeved cards with good lighting
  • 200+ sets tracked with full foil variant support
  • Cardmarket price data with daily updates
  • Batch scanning mode for processing multiple cards in sequence
  • GDPR compliant with German hosting

Weaknesses:

  • Community and social features are minimal
  • Graded card support is basic compared to dedicated grading trackers
  • Web interface is functional but not as polished as the Android app
  • UI text and documentation skew heavily toward German, with English sometimes feeling like an afterthought

TCG Album is the best option for EU-based collectors who prioritize scanner speed and Cardmarket pricing. The app's roots in the German market mean it excels where localized Cardmarket data matters most.

pkmn.gg

pkmn.gg is the most community-focused option on this list. It combines a digital binder with deck-building tools, creating a platform where collectors and players can connect, trade, and show off their collections.

Platforms: iOS, Android, Web.

Pricing: Free. No premium tier as of mid-2026. The app appears to be community-funded or operating on a sustainable free model.

Strengths:

  • Friend system with trainer profiles and levels
  • Deck builder integrated alongside collection tracker
  • Gamified collection progress with achievements
  • Cross-platform on all three major platforms
  • Active Discord community with regular events

Weaknesses:

  • TCGplayer prices only — no Cardmarket support
  • No scanner at all; every card must be searched manually
  • Grading support is limited to a single grade field with no subgrades
  • Portfolio value tracking is less accurate than dedicated price engines
  • No sealed product tracking

pkmn.gg is the best pick for collectors who want a social experience around their hobby. If sharing your collection with friends and building decks from your cards sounds appealing, this is your app. If you need serious price tracking or grading depth, look elsewhere.

CardTrezor

CardTrezor is the newest entry on this list but has carved out a clear niche: deep graded card tracking with Cardmarket price integration. It is purpose-built for collectors who treat their cards as a managed portfolio rather than just a list of what they own.

Platforms: Android, Web.

Pricing: Free tier with essential features. Premium at 1.99 EUR/mo or 19.99 EUR/yr.

Strengths:

  • Best-in-class grading support: subgrades for centering, edges, corners, and surface across PSA, BGS, CGC, and PCA
  • Cardmarket price integration — unique among serious collection trackers for the EU market
  • Digital binder sharing with animated card backs for displaying collections
  • Set completion tracker with circular progress indicators and per-set breakdowns
  • Premium pricing is the most affordable on this list at under 20 EUR per year

Weaknesses:

  • Newer app with a smaller user base than established competitors
  • No AI card scanner — cards must be added through search
  • iOS app is not yet available (Android and Web only)
  • Still building out advanced features like price alerts and market analytics

CardTrezor is the best choice for serious collectors and investors who want Cardmarket-powered portfolio tracking and the deepest grading support available. It is particularly strong for EU users who have felt underserved by US-centric apps.

Full disclosure: CardTrezor is our product. We have written this section to be accurate and balanced rather than promotional. The grading depth and Cardmarket integration are genuinely unique features we are proud of; the missing scanner and smaller community are real limitations we are actively working on.

TCG Collector

TCG Collector is a veteran web-based collection tracker that has been serving the community for years. It focuses on database completeness over flashy features, making it a reliable choice for collectors who want maximum coverage.

Platforms: Web only. No mobile app.

Pricing: Free tier with limited features. Premium at €2.78/mo or €27.89/yr unlocks price tracking and advanced tools.

Strengths:

  • Excellent set database covering releases from all regions
  • Shareable collection links for trading and selling
  • Simple, fast interface that loads quickly even on slow connections
  • Bulk add features for importing existing collections

Weaknesses:

  • Web-only with no mobile app; no offline access
  • Price tracking is limited to the premium tier
  • No scanner at all
  • No grading support
  • UI is functional but dated compared to newer competitors

TCG Collector works well as a quick-reference database and simple tracker, especially for collectors who do most of their organizing on a desktop. The lack of mobile access and grading support limits its usefulness for serious portfolio management.

Dex

Dex positions itself as the most accessible Pokemon collection app for casual collectors. Its cheerful design and straightforward feature set make it easy to recommend to someone just starting their collection journey.

Platforms: iOS, Android.

Pricing: Free with optional donations/subscription. Core features are fully accessible without payment.

Strengths:

  • Free and fully functional — no paywalls for essential features
  • TCGplayer price integration with decent accuracy
  • Clean, approachable UI that does not overwhelm new users
  • AI scanner with solid accuracy for standard cards
  • Available on both major mobile platforms

Weaknesses:

  • Features are shallow compared to premium competitors
  • No grading support
  • No sealed product tracking
  • No web interface — mobile only
  • Price data is US-only (TCGplayer)

Dex is the best starting point for a new collector who wants to catalog their first few hundred cards without committing to a paid tool. It is not suitable for serious investors, graded card collectors, or anyone needing European price data.

PriceCharting

PriceCharting is not primarily a collection tracker — it is a price database that happens to offer collection management features. Its strength is historical pricing data for graded cards and sealed product.

Platforms: iOS, Android, Web.

Pricing: Free tier with basic tracking. Premium at €4.64/mo or €27.89/yr unlocks advanced analytics, unlimited collections, and CSV export.

Strengths:

  • Most comprehensive historical price graphs in the market
  • Best graded card value data — PSA, BGS, CGC prices tracked consistently
  • Sold-listing data gives real transaction prices, not just market listings
  • Covers sealed product and accessories alongside individual cards

Weaknesses:

  • Collection management features feel bolted-on rather than designed-in
  • Adding cards is slow without a scanner
  • Free tier is heavily restricted
  • Pokemon-specific features lag behind dedicated Pokemon apps
  • Interface prioritizes price data over collection organization

PriceCharting is an essential companion tool for buy/sell decisions and grading ROI analysis, but it is not a great primary collection tracker. Use it alongside a dedicated tracker if you are actively trading or investing.

Comparison by Use Case

Best for serious collectors and investors: CardTrezor or Collectr. CardTrezor wins on grading depth and EU price data; Collectr wins on market breadth and iOS polish.

Best for EU collectors using Cardmarket: CardTrezor or TCG Album. CardTrezor edges ahead for grading and portfolio management; TCG Album wins for scanner speed.

Best for beginners: Dex or pkmn.gg. Dex is simpler; pkmn.gg offers more community engagement for new collectors who want to connect with others.

Best for graded card collectors: CardTrezor for subgrade tracking, PriceCharting for value analytics. No single app does both perfectly, but using them together covers every angle.

Best free option: pkmn.gg or Dex. Both are genuinely free with no mandatory premium tier. pkmn.gg offers more features; Dex is simpler to use.

Best for social and sharing: pkmn.gg for community features, CardTrezor for digital binder sharing. These serve different social needs — pkmn.gg builds a community; CardTrezor lets you present a polished digital collection.

Key Feature Differentiators

AI Scanner. Only TCG Album and Dex offer functional AI scanning. CardTrezor, Collectr, and pkmn.gg rely on manual search. TCG Album's scanner is the fastest and most accurate in testing, especially in batch mode.

Price Source. This is the most important differentiator for value-focused collectors. Cardmarket: TCG Album and CardTrezor. TCGplayer: pkmn.gg and Dex. Multi-source: Collectr and PriceCharting. If you live in Europe, Cardmarket-based pricing is significantly more relevant for your collection's real-world value.

Grading Depth. CardTrezor is the only app that tracks individual subgrades for centering, edges, corners, and surface. PriceCharting tracks graded card values but not in-collection grading detail. Every other app treats grading as a single field.

Cross-Platform Access. CardTrezor, pkmn.gg, and Dex offer the best cross-platform coverage within their respective platform sets. TCG Collector is web-only. Collectr is iOS-only. TCG Album is Android + Web.

Offline Support. Mobile apps generally offer some offline functionality, though varies. Web-only tools require a connection.

Set Completion Tracking. CardTrezor stands out here with its dedicated SetCompletionList component showing circular progress indicators per set. TCG Album offers basic completion stats but without the visual polish.

An Honest Assessment of CardTrezor

CardTrezor is the newest app on this list, and that comes with both advantages and tradeoffs.

The advantages are real. The grading tracking is genuinely next-level — no other app lets you record individual subgrades and see a complete grade breakdown per card. The Cardmarket integration gives EU collectors a price source that reflects actual market conditions in their region, not US-market data converted at unfavorable rates. The set completion tracker with its circular progress indicators is the most visually satisfying implementation we tested.

The tradeoffs are equally real. There is no AI scanner yet, which means adding a collection takes more manual effort than with TCG Album or Dex. The user base is smaller than Collectr or pkmn.gg, so community features have less activity. iOS users cannot use it at all. The feature set, while growing, does not yet match the breadth of established competitors.

Where CardTrezor fits best: collectors who care deeply about grading, who use Cardmarket for pricing, who want to track set completion with precision, and who value an app that treats their collection as a serious portfolio. If that describes you, CardTrezor is worth your time. If you need a scanner-first experience or a large social community, one of the other options on this list will serve you better for now.

The Bottom Line

There is no single best Pokemon card collection app in 2026. The right choice depends on your platform, your market, and what you value most in the collecting experience.

If you prioritize Best choice
Grading depth and EU prices CardTrezor
Scanner speed and coverage TCG Album
Social features and deck building pkmn.gg
Simplicity and a free tier Dex
Broad market tracking (iOS) Collectr
Graded card price history PriceCharting
Web-only database completeness TCG Collector

The good news is that every app on this list is better than what was available two years ago. The app market has matured alongside the hobby itself, and collectors now have genuine choice in how they manage their collections.

If you are still tracking your cards in a spreadsheet or not tracking them at all, 2026 is the year to move to a dedicated app. Your collection has never been worth more, and tracking it properly is the first step to managing it like the asset it has become.
